Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each project is unique and may require less or more items to be included in the package.

Below sample package can be considered as a small internal renovation project covering the kitchen, flooring, and laundry room:

    • Presentation: We present the design to you, guiding you through the concept, drawings, and material choices. This allows you to fully understand and visualize the proposed design.

    • Concept and Mood Boards: visual boards that capture the overall style and design direction of your project.

    • Working Drawings: including floor plans, existing conditions, demolition plans, joinery plans, elevations, and design details. These drawings can be utilized by builders or tradespeople (such as cabinetmakers or electricians) for quoting purposes and on-site construction guidance.

    • Fixtures, Fittings & Equipments Schedule: We provide a schedule outlining specific materials, colours, fixtures, and fittings (FF&E) to be used in your project. This helps you make informed decisions and ensures consistency throughout the design.

    • Design Management: Throughout the construction phase, we provide ongoing design management support, ensuring the project progresses according to the design intent and addressing any design-related queries or challenges that may arise.

The specific inclusions may vary depending on the project's unique requirements. We will work closely with you to develop a tailored design package that fulfills your needs, budget, and aligns with your vision.

  • Yes! we have a dedicated team of contractors and tradespeople ready to work within your time and budget constraints. Our goal is to provide you with the best quote and outcome for your project.

Using our working drawings and industry knowledge, we tap into our extensive network of contractors and cabinetmakers. This allows us to obtain competitive quotes from professionals who meet our high standards of quality and expertise. Rest assured, we only collaborate with contractors and tradespeople we would trust in our own homes.

Once the quotes and estimations are approved, you, as the client, will enter into a separate contract with the chosen tradesperson to have the work completed.

  • Absolutely! If you're organizing your own renovation, whether it’s a kitchen or bathroom, having a set of drawings is essential. It allows you to coordinate with tradespeople and shop for fittings effectively.

By providing you with detailed plans, we ensure that you're making the most of your space and aid you in selecting the right products. Our drawings will enable you to obtain accurate quotes from plumbers, stonemasons, builders, tilers, and other tradespeople involved in your project.

This cost-effective approach eliminates the need for pricey project management fees charged, ultimately reducing the overall price of your renovation.

  • Having a tradesman and a builder is undoubtedly important for the construction of your home. However, an experienced designer brings a unique set of skills and expertise to the table that can greatly enhance the overall outcome of your project. Here's why:

Design Expertise: They create functional and visually appealing designs, considering building codes and regulations.

Visualisation: They have the power to bring your dreams to life, helping you see your future home before it's even built, like a sneak peek into your own personal paradise.

Customisation: They're the tailor who stitches your home to fit like a perfectly tailored suit, reflecting your unique personality.

Attention to Detail: They consider lighting, ventilation, and energy efficiency for a comfortable living environment.

Coordination: hey're the conductors of the construction orchestra, harmonizing the efforts of tradesmen and builders to create a symphony of craftsmanship.

Value: They're the secret ingredient that transforms a house into a home, adding that wow factor that will have others green with envy.

  • That's a valid question! While some cabinet makers offer in-house designers, it's important to consider the advantages of working with an independent designer.

At House of Mava, our focus is solely on providing a comprehensive design service rather than selling cabinetry. Instead of primarily incentivized to close sales on the products, our objective is to create a design that perfectly suits your needs, your home, budget and personal style.
